California’s children as a group have the second lowest standard of living, with nearly half of them living near or in poverty.
Coming up with ways to help kids get a good start is the focus of a community forum Thursday night in Santa Barbara.
Democratic State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson of Santa Barbara will be on hand along with representatives from the non-profit children’s advocacy groups Common Sense, and the Right Start Commission.
The forum will take place from 5-7 p.m. at Santa Barbara High School.
