Ventura County has been home to training camps for two pro football teams this year, the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys.
Now, another pro sports team is eyeing the South Coast. A newspaper is reporting Santa Barbara County may be home to a pro basketball training camp. The Orange County Register says the Los Angeles Lakers are looking at doing some preseason training at UC Santa Barbara.
The Lakers have a training facility in El Segundo, but with a new coach, Luke Walton, they may be looking for a place that won’t have as much media on hand to distract from the camp.
Last year, the Memphis Grizzlies did some preseason training at UCSB.
