The California Mid-State Fair is now in the record books for another year, and it had another year of solid attendance.

Just released numbers for the 2016 fair show it had 421,000 visitors. That’s down about 2% from last year, but the sixth straight year overall that attendance has topped the 410,000 mark. Country star Blake Shelton attracted the largest concert crowd in the fair’s history, with nearly 15,000 people attending his July 23rd show. Another record was set that day. With the temperature hitting 105 degrees at the fair July 23rd, 326 kegs of beer were sold.

The 2016 Fair ran July 20th through July 31st.  It's not too soon to start thinking about next year.  Fair officials say the 2017 edition of the fair will run July 19th through July 30th.
