Arrest Made In Slaying Of Man At Ventura County Bus Stop

Detectives say they’ve made an arrest in the shooting death of a man who was gunned down as he stood at a Ventura County bus stop.

Oxnard Police arrested Christopher Gaston for last month’s slaying of Christopher Camper.

Investigators say Camper was standing at a bus stop on the 1900 block of North Ventura just after 5 p.m. June 25th when Gaston drove up to the bus stop in his car, and fired a volley of shots at the 32 year old man. Camper died a short time later at a hospital.

Detectives believe a longstanding feud between the two Oxnard men over some personal property led to the killing. Gaston was already in the Ventura County Jail on an unrelated charge when he was arrested for the murder.
