Highway 101 Resurfacing Projects On South Coast Could Create Delays During Overnight Hours
Work to resurface some bridges on Highway 101 on the South Coast is going to mean some overnight closures, and at times traffic detours and delays.
Starting tonight, crews will work on the southbound Highway 101 bridge at the Ventura River, in Ventura. Work will take place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., with one lane closed at a time. There could be traffic backups in the area. The Highway 33 connector off of the 101 will also be closed at times, with traffic rerouted onto surface streets. Crews are trying to get the work done by August 2nd, which is opening day for the Ventura County Fair, at nearby Seaside Park.
Meanwhile, starting on Wednesday night, southbound 101 traffic will rerouted off of the highway at Seacliff onto the PCH so the bridge over the old Rincon Highway can be resurfaced. That overnight and early morning hours project could also result in delays for southbound travelers.
