Firefighters say they've stopped the growth of a 45 acre brush fire near the Ventura-Los Angeles County line, and are working to contain it.  The fire started just before 1 p.m. Friday , near the Rocky Peak Road turnoff on Highway 118.

The fire quickly grew from a few acres to about 20. Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Los Angeles City firefighters all responded to the scene, and with the help of aircraft were able to stop its growth at about 45 acres.

No homes have been threatened. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
