An acclaimed arts program on the South Coast has announced that its 2016-2017 season will include more than 65 events, including performances by legendary musicians Yo-Yo Ma and Joan Baez, and talks by everyone from A Prairie Home Companion’s Garrison Keillor to women’s right’s activist Gloria Steinem.

UC Santa Barbara’s Arts and Lectures will kick off its season with free screenings of the entire Ken Burns PBS series “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” The six part series will be shown on Saturday September 24th, and Sunday, September 25th, with three episodes shown at noon each day at Santa Barbara’s Granada Theater.
