Wrong Way Collision Kills Three On South Coast

Authorities are investigating a triple fatal, wrong way crash on the South Coast.

The accident happened on Sunday around 1:30 a.m. on Highway 126 near Center Street in the Moorpark area. The California Highway Patrol says a 35-year-old Los Angeles man driving a 2015 Kia Optima traveled eastbound on the westbound #1 lane and crashed head-on into a 2012 Toyota Camry that was carrying two women from Fillmore.  All three people were killed in the collision.

The highway was closed for several hours as crews cleared the wreckage.  It reopened just before 6 a.m.

There’s no word on what led to the deadly collision.
