Maybe you saw it. Hundreds of law enforcement officers carried a torch through the streets of the South Coast this week.

The annual “Flame of Hope” Law Enforcement Torch Run is helping to raise awareness and money for the Southern California Special Olympics.

The games take place Saturday and Sunday at Cal State Long Beach, and will feature more than a thousand athletes, including a number from our region.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
