Tens Of Thousands Expected For 30th Anniversary Of Street Painting Festival In Santa Barbara

Artists create works for 30th annual I Madonnari Street Festival

Hundreds of artists are creating works for Santa Barbara's 30th annual I Madonnari Street Painting Festival.

The three day event on the plaza in front of the Santa Barbara Mission features huge chalk art drawings.

The event is free, but concession and T-Shirt sales fund the Children's Creative Project, a non-profit which brings art education, and cultural performances to more than 50,000 Santa Barbara County schoolchildren annually.

It attracts tens of thousands of people, as visitors can watch the artworks being created in front of their eyes.
