130 Acre Controlled Burn Set For South Coast

You could see a plume of smoke on the South Coast Wednesday in the hills above Ventura, but unlike a blaze in the same general area last week, this one is planned. Ventura County firefighters are planning a controlled burn in the Barlow Canyon area. If weather conditions permit, they will burn about 130 acres to reduce the overall fire danger in the area. The controlled burn will be a day long event, ending at around 6 p.m.
