South Coast Environmental Watchdog Group Hires Executive Director

An environmental watchdog group in Ventura County which focuses on oil and gas operations has hired its first full time executive director.

Citizens for Responsible Oil and Gas announced Kimberly Rivers will head the organization. Rivers is a newspaper reporter, and blogger who has been cover oil and gas development in the county, as well as other environmental issues. She’ll start her new job May 1st.

CFROG is a four year old non-profit group which has taken on the oil and gas industry, as well as Ventura County over some new and existing projects in the county.

Lance Orozco has been News Director of KCLU since 2001, providing award-winning coverage of some of the biggest news events in the region, including the Thomas and Woolsey brush fires, the deadly Montecito debris flow, the Borderline Bar and Grill attack, and Ronald Reagan's funeral.
