What started as an attempted robbery of a jewelry store led to a gunfight in the Conejo Valley.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Department investigators say it started just after one p.m. yesterday, on the 2000 block of Avenida de Los Arobles in Thousand Oaks. A man with a gun went inside the business, and exchanged shots with an employee. The man, who is possible wounded, then fled the scene with another man in a car.
No one at the store was hurt, but there was blood on the ground which indicated one of the would-be robbers may have been hit. The car sped away from the scene, and the two suspects are still at large this morning.
