Two Arrested In Connection With Computer Burglaries From Ventura County Schools

Detectives say they’ve arrested two people in connection with a string of tech related burglaries from local schools.

Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Mesa Verde Middle School in Moorpark early last Thursday morning by a burglar alarm. They arrested Karinna Cortez of Oxnard at the scene. Deputies say more than 100 iPads had been staged for removal from the school.

Detectives say they identified Cory Fletcher of Oxnard as another suspect, linking him to additional school burglaries as well as home burglaries in Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Ventura, and Los Angeles. Investigators served search warrants at two locations and found more than 150 stolen iPads, and other stolen gear.

The Oxnard man is the owner of Dynamic Technologies, a computer repair company based in Westlake Village.
