Prosecutors Seek Murder Charge In Ventura County Car Crash Which Killed One, Seriously Injured Two

Ventura County prosecutors say they are pursuing a second degree murder charge against a man who lost control of a speeding car which crashed, killing one passenger and seriously injuring two others.

The collision happened in January.  Prosecutors say Nathaniel Wills was driving at around 70 miles an hour on Rose Avenue in Oxnard when the vehicle veered across the road and smashed into a tree stump.

One of the passengers was thrown from the vehicle, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prosecutors say the 32-year-old Oxnard man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.  They say Wills had four prior DUI convictions.
