Man Arrested For Series Of Attacks On Homeless People In Ventura County

A Ventura County man has been arrested for attempted murder following a series of attacks on homeless people in the Conejo Valley.

Starting in June, there were three separate incidents in which a man threw rock at the heads of homeless people sleeping in the Hillcrest Drive area of Thousand Oaks.  One of the victims had to be taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Investigators say following one of the incidents, a bystander tried to chase the suspect on his bike, and was struck by the man’s vehicle as he fled the area.  Fortunately, the cyclist wasn’t seriously injured.

Detectives set up surveillance in the area,, and spotted a man who matched the description of the attacker.  The investigators say they found evidence linking Ali Tehrani of Thousand Oaks to the attacks.  He was arrested on three attempted murder charges, as well as a felony hit and run count.
