Red Flag Warning In Place For Parts Of Central And South Coasts

We could see some potentially dangerous wildfire conditions in Santa Barbara County for the next day.

There’s a Red Flag Warning in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 9 Thursday morning for Santa Barbara County’s mountains.

The extreme heat along with moderate wind are creating an elevated brush fire threat.  The Santa Barbara County Fire Department has beefed up staffing.

There is an excessive heat warning in effect for much of the Central and South Coasts, with temperatures up to 100 expected on the coast Thursday, and to around 106 in the valleys.  Cooling is expected to start on Friday.
