No Sports For Central, South Coast High Schools In Fall

High school football in March or April?  It’s a possibility for the Central and South Coasts, because of the coronavirus crisis.

The statewide governing board for high school sports in California has announced that because of the ongoing health concerns, there will be no fall sports this year.

The California Interscholastic Federation is saying if conditions permit, competition can resume in December.  The new calendar means that football playoffs could extend into April.  It will be up to each CIF section around the state to develop its own schedule.

The federation has also temporarily lifted the restriction on students playing for other outside of school sports teams while on a high school team.
