Strawberries remain Ventura County’s top crop, as just released statistics show that the county’s overall value of crops increased slightly for the first time in years. The 2018 Ventura County Agricultural Report shows the value of the crops was $2.1 billion dollars last year. That’s up less that one percent from 2017. But, it’s the first time in three years the overall number increased.
The report shows strawberries ranked number one, with lemons two and celery three.
The strawberry crop was valued at $670 million dollars, while lemons hit $244 million dollars and celery $198 million.
