There’s a second confirmed case of measles on the Central and South Coasts. Santa Barbara County Public Health officials say the person was exposed to measles while traveling outside of the county. The patient has been placed in isolation. Because of privacy laws, no further information is being released about the case.
Health officials are looking who may have run across the infected person. It includes people who might have been at Macy’s in Santa Barbara from 2-5 last Friday, or Santa Barbara Wine Therapy from 8-11 p.m., also last Friday.
The current outbreak in the U.S. is the largest one in a quarter of a century, with around a thousand cases reported. The disease is preventable with proper vaccinations.
