There's a happy ending to efforts to find a stolen van with a puppy inside on the South Coast.
On Monday, a man parked his van in the parking lot at St. John's Hospital in Oxnard so his wife could get medical treatment. Their pet dog Scrappy was inside the van. They returned to find the vehicle had been stolen.
On Wednesday, the van was discovered abandoned on the 2500 block of Ukiah Street in Port Hueneme. The dog was weak and emaciated from the lack of food and water, but is expected to recover.
