Authorities say they’ve arrested 14 people in connection with a drug dealing operation orchestrated by a state prison inmate. Moorpark Police and Ventura County Sheriff’s investigators have been working on the case for about a year, after learning about gang related drug sales in the eastern part of the county.

Detectives say they discovered a prison inmate, Edwin Mora, was managing the operation from Calipatria State Prison.

Last week, search warrants were served at 10 locations in Moorpark, Simi Valley, Saticoy, and at the state prison, with drugs, money, guns, and evidence of a drug dealing operation being seized. Investigators say they expect to make additional arrests in the case.
