An elderly woman with dementia who disappeared from her family’s Ventura County home over the weekend was found alive this afternoon in an avocado orchard.
Judy Wurtz was found about four miles away from where she was last seen in Somis Sunday afternoon. The 76 year old woman was airlifted to a hospital for evaluation. Wurtz was the focus of a big air and ground search, which included everything from helicopters and drones to search dogs, and mounted units.
Someone apparently found her in the orchard off of Old Balcom Canyon Road.
