Firefighters are continuing to build containment lines around the now nearly 32,000 acre Rey Wildfire, burning in the Los Padres National Forest in Santa Barbara County.
The blaze is now a little over a third contained, at 35%, with full containment projected for the middle of next week.
More than 1700 people are now involved with efforts to stop the blaze, which has been burning since last Thursday afternoon.
No structures have been reported damaged.
The fire has burned grass, brush, and some oak trees in backcountry areas off of the east end of the Santa Ynez Valley. It’s about nine miles north of Santa Barbara.
