During Campaign Stop In Ventura County, Bernie Sanders Says Donald Trump Agrees To One-On-One Debate

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders speaks at campaign rally in Ventura

Thousands of people were on hand for a speech by Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on the South Coast this afternoon, where he talked about issues ranging from education to health care.

Sanders started his more than hour-long speech at Ventura College with a bombshell, saying that Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump has agreed to debate him.

Trump appeared on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday night, and Kimmel said he was passing on an invitation from Sanders for a one-on-one debate in California before the June 7th primary.

Trump said he would do it, if it was a fundraiser for charity.

His staff later said it was a joke.

At a news conference in North Dakota today, Trump said he was serious about the debate, if a network would donate $10 to $15 million dollars for women’s health issues.

Sanders is set to appear at Santa Barbara City College Saturday morning, and at Santa Maria High School Saturday afternoon for campaign rallies.
