South Coast Non-Profit Part Of New National Push To Encourage People To Get COVID-19 Vaccinations

Direct Relief teams up with DoorDash, clinics around country

A South Coast based non-profit is helping in a new national campaign to get at least 70% of all American adults at least one COVID-19 shot by the Fourth of July.

Santa Barbara based Direct Relief is teaming up with a food home delivery service, and clinics across the nation to try to give people another reason to get a shot. They’ll be offered a DoorDash gift card if they get vaccinated.

Damian Taugher is Direct Relief’s Vice President of Global Programs. He says DoorDash is donating two million dollars worth of gift cards for home delivered food.

Direct Relief works with clinics around the country, and will try to get the gift cards to places where vaccination rates are low, and the extra incentive might help.
