254 Additional COVID-19 Cases Reported On Central, South Coasts But Rate Of Growth Slowing

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Central and South Coasts now tops the 130,000 mark, but the rate of growth continues to slow.

254 additional cases were reported in the region Friday.  Ventura County had 167, Santa Barbara County 49 and San Luis Obispo County 38.

13 more deaths have also been reported in the Tri-Counties.  Ventura County has seven, Santa Barbara County one, and San Luis Obispo County five.  The three counties have now had 5551 COVID-19 related deaths in the last year.

San Luis Obispo County improved COVID-19 metrics allowed it to move from the purple, to the less restrictive red tier this week.  It allowed reopenings like limited indoor dining, as well as indoor gym activities.  Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties remain in the purple tier, but are hoping to move to red in the next few weeks.
