New COVID-19 Case Count Continues To Drop On Central, South Coasts, But 27 More Deaths Reported

We are continuing to see a drop in the number of new COVID-19 cases on the Central and South Coasts, with some public health officials saying we are seeing easing of the holiday season surge.

669 new cases were reported Wednesday.  The total includes 334 cases in Ventura County, 187 in Santa Barbara County and 148 in San Luis Obispo County.

However, the death toll was high Wednesday.  27 additional coronavirus related deaths were reported in the three counties.  There were 13 in Santa Barbara County, nine in San Luis Obispo County and five in Ventura County.

The Tri-Counties has now had 1137 COVID-19 related deaths reported since the start of the pandemic.
