Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo Counties Announce COVID-19 Related Reopenings

The state has lifted COVID-19 stay at home orders which led to the shutdown of outdoor operations at restaurants, and the closure of personal service businesses like nail and hair salons.  With the state switching the guidelines it used for closures, it opened the door for Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County to allow some reopenings.

State Public Health officials have returned to the use of a color coded system which allows counties to reopen faster if they are doing better than their neighbors.  But, each county now has to decide if it is ready to implement the reopenings.

Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties are in the purple tier, which is the most restrictive because of high COVID-19 case numbers.

The three counties are implementing the purple guidelines.  It means that businesses which had met the purple level guidelines can reopen services like outdoor dining, hair salons, barbershops, and nail salons.
