Wednesday was the deadliest single day of the pandemic on the Central and South Coasts. 37 COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the region.
Ventura County had 26 deaths, Santa Barbara County 7, and San Luis Obispo County 4. It brings the total since the virus first appeared in the three counties to 845.
1125 newly diagnosed cases were reported in the Tri-Counties, with 673 in Ventura County, 325 in Santa Barbara County, and 127 in San Luis Obispo County. The region has now had more than 104,000 cases of the virus since it was first detected in the region.
