More county jail inmates on the Central and South Coasts are testing positive for COVID-19.

San Luis Obispo County is reporting 21 additional inmates have tested postive, and Santa Barbara County three.

The new San Luis Obispo County numbers are part of an outbreak which began at the jail last month.  48 inmates have now tested positive as a part of that surge, with 56 inmates positive overall since the start of the pandemic.  14 correctional deputies have now tested positive since March.

In Santa Barbara County, the latest three jail inmates who tested positive for the virus brings the total since the start of the pandemic to 98.
