A South Coast opera company isn’t letting the pandemic stop it from doing a live show.
Opera Santa Barbara is presenting its version of the classic “Carmen” this weekend as an outdoor, drive-in event at the Ventura County Fairgrounds
The performers will be on a large, outdoor stage at the fairgrounds. People can watch the 2 p.m. Sunday matinee from their cars parked around the stage, or sit next to their cars in lawnchairs, if they wear masks. There are giant video screens, and the audio can be heard through car radios.
