The total number of diagnosed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts has reached a milestone, and it’s not a good one. The number now tops the 30,000 mark
There were 677 new cases over the last three days, with 339 in Ventura County, 112 in Santa Barbara County and 226 in San Luis Obispo County.
The region’s total now stands at 30,604. The increased numbers are causing major concern, because if they continue to go up they could potentially push the three counties backwards from the state’s red, to the more restrictive purple tier.
There were also two additional coronavirus related deaths in the region. They were both in Ventura County, bringing the county’s total to 171. There have now been 335 deaths overall in the region.
