The number of coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts has now topped the 27,000 mark.
27,004 cases have now been documented. But, the number of daily new cases continues to remain low. 81 new cases were reported in the region Wednesday.
Ventura County had 53, Santa Barbara County 19 and San Luis Obispo County 9. The counties are hoping to keep those numbers low for the next few weeks to move to the state’s next tier of reopenings.
One new death has been reported in the region, in northern Santa Barbara County. It brings the three-county total to 307, with 158 in Ventura County, 117 in Santa Barbara County and 32 in San Luis Obispo County.
