New Grants Set To Help Some Struggling With Rent On Central, South Coasts Because Of Coronavirus

Some new rental assistance grant programs created as a result of the coronavirus crisis are now accepting applications in Santa Barbara County.  The United Way of Santa Barbara County teamed up with Santa Barbara County, and the cities of Santa Barbara and Goleta for the efforts.

The $2.6 million dollars in federal CARES Act funding includes $2 million dollars for people struggling with rent in unincorporated parts of the county.

There’s $200,000 in funding for the housing of people who test positive for coronavirus, and need to be isolated.  And, there’s also funding available for Santa Barbara residents struggling with rent, and for Goleta seniors having a difficult time financially.

Information on the grants is available at: www.unitedwaysb.org/covid19-financial-assistance
