Coronavirus Leads To Cancellation Of Santa Barbara Senior Expo, But Free Flu Shots Will Continue

A more than three decade old event for Santa Barbara County seniors won’t be taking place this fall because of coronavirus safety concerns.  But, organizers are holding a different version of the annual senior fair, turning it into a mobile flu clinic.

One of the key elements of the Senior Expo of Santa Barbara County has been its free flu shots provided by Cottage Health and Sansum Clinic.

The event’s organizers say safety concerns mean the annual in-person expo can’t take place in the traditional way at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.

They are working with the Santa Barbara County Health Department to organize a number of free vaccination clinics at senior living facilities and mobile home parks.  They are still organizing the locations, dates, and times of the clinics.
