Coronavirus Case Total Tops 19,000 On Central, South Coasts; Death Toll Hits 195 In Region

The number of coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts topped the 19,000 mark over the weekend.  More than 500 new cases were reported in the three counties during the last three days.  

There have been 19,313 diagnosed cases in the region.  The total include 9297 in Ventura County, 7454 in Santa barbara County, and 2562 in San Luis Obispo County.  Most of thse diagosed have already recovered.

Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo Counties are continuing to fail to meet all of the data parameters of the state’s reopening guidelines.  It means that the counties still aren’t in a position for additional reopenings.

The death toll in the region also rose by five over the weekend, to 195 people.  Santa Barbara County had an additional three deaths.
