Central, South Coasts Top 10,000 Coronavirus Cases

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts now tops the 10,000 mark.  The latest count is 10,020 cases. 

Santa Barbara County is reporting 184 additional cases, bringing its total to 4323.  Ventura County’s latest number is 4619.  And, San Luis Obispo County has its largest one-day total since the start of the crisis, 72 new cases, bringing its total to 1078.

Most of those diagnosed with the virus have already recovered.  About a thousand of Santa Barbara County’s cases are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc. 

The death toll rose to 90 in the region Tuesday, with two more deaths reported.  Ventura County has had 53 deaths, Santa Barbara County 32, and San Luis Obispo County added its sixth death.
