More Than 100 Additional Confirmed Coronavirus Cases Reported On Central, South Coasts

More than 100 new confirmed coronavirus cases have been reported on the Central and South Coasts, bringing the total for the region to more than 3600.

Ventura County has 62 new cases reported, for 1466 overall.  Santa Barbara County has an additional 46 cases, bringing it’s total of diagnosed cases to 1910.  And, San Luis Obispo County has 279 cases, an increase of 11.  Most of Santa Barbara County’s cases are tied to the federal prison complex in Lompoc.

There have been 55 deaths in the region, with 38 in Ventura County, 16 in Santa Barbara County, and one in San Luis Obispo County.

The new numbers come as Santa Barbara County prepares to move to the next stage of reopening Friday, allowing schools, gyms, day camps, movie theaters, and bars to reopen.
