Confirmed Coronavirus Case Total For Central, South Coasts Tops 3500; Death Toll Still At 51

The number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts has topped the 3500 mark. There were more than 110 new cases reported in the region Tuesday.  Ventura County is reporting 80 new cases, and Santa Barbara County 30.  The total is currently at 3560 cases for the region. 

Ventura County has 1381 cases, Santa Barbara County 1847, and San Luis Obispo 302 cases.  About two thirds of Santa Barbara County's cases are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc. 

There have been 51 deaths in the three counties tied to coronavirus.  They include 35 in Ventura County, 15 in Santa Barbara County and one in San Luis Obispo County.  Most of the deaths were older adults with preexisting health conditions.
