The number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts now tops the 3400 mark. The total is currently at 3457 cases for the region.  Ventura County has 1341 cases, Santa Barbara County 1817, and San Luis Obispo 299 cases.  About two thirds of Santa Barbara County's cases are linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc.

There have been 51 deaths in the three counties tied to coronavirus.  They include 35 in Ventura County, 15 in Santa Barbara County and one in San Luis Obispo County.  Most of the deaths were older adults with preexisting health conditions.

Santa Barbara County Health officials say they have been looking at new state guidelines which would allow the reopening of businesses like bars and gyms.  They say they plan to announce as soon as Wednesday the status of more potential reopenings.
