More Than 100 Coronavirus Cases Now Linked To Federal Prison On Central Coast

The largest cluster of coronavirus cases in the region is on the Central Coast, at the federal prison complex in Lompoc.

There are now 110 coronavirus cases linked to the federal prison complex in Lompoc, including 80 inmates and 30 staff members.

Santa Barbara County is working with the Federal Bureau of Prisons to try to contain the outbreak.  Nick Clay is Director of Santa Barbara County’s Emergency Medical Services Agency. 

He says they are helping with testing, and working with federal officials on strategies to try to contain the outbreak.

There’s also an effort underway on set up an on-site field hospital.
