First Postponed, Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival Now Moves Online

An event that was supposed to be Santa Barbara's 50th Earth Day, live at Alameda Park in downtown Santa Barbara, has now moved online.

The event had originally been postponed to July in response to the coronavirus outbreak, but now the live portion has been cancelled entirely. Instead, a virtual event has been put together.

#TogetherWeEarthrise is the name of the new festival, which will take place April 22.

Speakers will include former Vice President Al Gore, along with actor Jeff Bridges, as well as former Environmental Hero Award winners.

Musical performers will include Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Glen Phillips, and Zach Gill.

The event will be available on for free to anyone who wants to watch.

Andy worked at KCLU from 2016 until 2022.
