Number of Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts Approaching 700 Mark
The number of diagnosed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts is approaching the 700 mark. We currently stand at 695 diagnosed coronavirus cases on the Central and South Coasts. But,there wasn’t a lot of growth in the number of cases during the last 24 hours.
Ventura County picked up an additional five cases. It now has 314. There are 267 in Santa Barbara County, an increase of three. And San Luis Obispo County has 114, up four from the day before.
There have been 13 deaths in the region.
Looking at the geography of the numbers: In Ventura County, Simi Valley has the most, with 72, followed by Oxnard with 68 and Thousand Oaks at 45. Other number include 36 in Camarillo, 26 in Ventura, 20 in Moorpark, 9 in Oak Park, 8 in Westlake Village and 7 in Newbury Park.
The remaining cases are spread around small communities in the region.
In Santa Barbara County, Santa Maria, has the most, with 64. 47 cases are linked to the federal prison in Lompoc. Lompoc has had 41 cases, Santa Barbara 35, Orcutt 27, Montecito, Summerland, and Carpinteria have 16, Goleta and Gaviota 11, and the Santa Ynez Valley 5.
The county’s remaining cases are scattered around the county.
