Close To 500 Coronavirus Cases On Central, South Coasts; A Breakdown By Communities

The Central and South Coasts now have nearly 500 documented coronavirus cases, with two new deaths reported in the region over the weekend. There are now 490 identified cases. Ventura County has 221 cases and six deaths. Santa Barbara County has 174 cases, and its second death. It was a person in their 60’s with pre-existing health conditions. And, San Luis Obispo County has 95 cases, along with its first death. It’s a person in the 80’s with pre-existing health issues.

Coronavirus cases have now been documented in just about every community in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. As of Monday morning in Ventura County, Simi Valley has had 46 cases, Oxnard 40, Thousand Oaks/Newbury Park 38, and Camarillo 30.

Ventura has 21 documented cased, Moorpark 14, Oak Park 9, Westlake Village 8, and Ojai 4. Port Hueneme has two cases.

In Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara as 31 documented cases, Lompoc 29, Santa Maria 28, Orcutt 20, Carpinteria/Summerland/Montecito 11, and Goleta/ Gaviota 9.

15 have been recorded in scattered parts of the North County, like Guadalupe. Five cases have been documented in the Santa Ynez Valley.
