All Public Schools In Ventura, Santa Barbara Counties Planning Coronavirus Related Closures

What was a confusing situation regarding the status of public school operations on the Central and South Coasts in light of coronavirus has become more clear. All school districts in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties are shutting down, although many have different closure schedules.

Schools in the region have been scrambling to come up with plans to deal with the coronavirus crisis. Closures will begin on Monday, but in some districts they might not take effect until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Some districts, like Moorpark and Simi Valley, have planned a one week closure at this point. Others, like Ventura, are planning longer ones, with school set to resume April 10th.

If you have kids, the bottom line is you are going to want to check in with their schools, because at the least they will be out at the very least for a few days, and potentially much longer.
