Voter Registration Efforts Come To South Coast College Campuses

The youngest available voters in California will be getting some direct attention on their college campuses.

A major voter outreach effort is coming to schools like UC Santa Barbara, which will have the Gaucho Vote Drive both on-campus and at the nearby community of Isla Vista.

In the past, UCSB has had tremendous voter registration drive that was recognized nationally for it success.

Their voted registration efforts signed up thousand of new voters in a short period of time. Those efforts are now being weilded to get out the vote for the March Primary.

The groups say that voters over 55 are voting 7 times more than voters in their twenties.

Students are told about how issues affect them directly, with examples like the minimum wage, housing costs, homelessness, and the future of the economy.
