2019 Looks To Be Big Year In Reopening Of Iconic South Coast Hotels, Tourist Destinations

The South Coast will be seeing some long-awaited development and remodeling projects become a reality in the first portion of this year.

One of the most watched is the project at the Miramar Hotel, which is in the final stages of a renovation that has taken about two years. The iconic hotel in Montecito closed in the early 2000s, but new owners began the current renovation project in 2016.

The San Ysidro Ranch, damaged in the Montecito Mudflow which happened a year ago this week, is set to gradually reopen. The Ranch already hosted some brunches over the holidays, will begin to start serving meals in the restaurant over the next few weeks, and is aiming to start booking rooms in the spring.

Finally, the Montecito Country Club, which has gone through a roughly two year remodel, is also set to reopen in the next few months.

Andy worked at KCLU from 2016 until 2022.
