After years of pleas from many residents, retailer Target will open a store in Santa Barbara.
That store, however, will not be like a traditional store.
Instead, the plan is to open a 34,000 square foot small-format store at State and Le Cumbre, where the Galleria building is currently located.
The store will include a CVS pharmacy, as well as men's, women's and children's apparel, grab-and-go food, and a pickup point for online orders.
130 similar such small format Targets are expected to be opened by the end of 2019.
