Funeral Services Set For Marine From Ventura Killed In Military Plane Crash

Funeral services are set to take place Saturday on the South Coast for a Marine who was one of 16 people killed in a military plane crash in Mississippi.

Staff Sergeant Robert Cox of Ventura died in the July 10th crash. A memorial service for the 28 year old Marine will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ventura Saturday morning. Following the service, there will be a motorcade with Ventura and Santa Paula Police to take Cox from Ventura, to Santa Paula, where he will be buried.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but the Marine Corps grounded all of its similar C-130T transport planes pending the results of an investigation.
